I love granola...but who doesn't?

This website is about more than granola. It's about community, living outside your own mind, loving others like a brother. Sure, granola is something you have for breakfast. I get that. Granola is a symbol, a symbol of being close to nature, a symbol of companionship. A symbol of health, of nutritious wealth. Granola is trademarked as the fav food for hippies, and while that's close-minded, I love that. The world needs more hippies, more people to share the peace and love. So to me, granola is more than breakfast - it's a way of life. I hope everyone can share a bowl or a bag today with someone you love and take a breath of live.

My Favorite Granola Recipe:

12 cups steel-cut oats (not quick oats!)
6 cups assorted nuts (cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds...)

    3 teaspoons nutmeg
    1 1/2 cups honey
    2 sticks butter
    6 teaspoons grated orange zest
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

4 cups assorted dried fruit (apricots, dates, cherries, peaches...)

Preheat oven to 350. Mix oats and nuts together and spread on baking sheet, bake for 15 minutes.
Mix butter, honey, nutmeg, vanilla, and orange zest together, and then stir into oats and nuts.
Return to oven for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove from oven and stir in dried fruits.
    Continue to stir until cool.
Make sure granola is completely cooled before storing or it will be very sticky.
Enjoy with milk, yogurt, or in handfuls!
